Background
Nate Prentice, LCSW, CAS-PC
(He/Him)
Welcome! If you're a trauma survivor seeking understanding and support, you're in the right place. You deserve a compassionate therapist who truly understands the challenges you face, especially if you're a first responder, active duty personnel, or veteran. Together, we can work towards healing and resilience, helping you find peace and strength in your journey.
Nate Prentice is the founder of this practice, and is currently connecting with other providers who share the same dream to provide a cooperative network of similarly trained providers who can service survivors of trauma and/or mentor other new practitioners interested in the work.
With over 35 years of experience in the field as a social worker and pastoral counselor, I have been utilizing EMDR since 1993 to individuals navigate their challenges.
My practice is open to everyone, offering general therapy for all, specializing in the treatment of trauma, which I help through focusing on EMDR and related techniques.
I also offer pastoral counseling for people of all faiths, including those who identify as atheists and are seeking meaning in their lives. While my background is Catholic, I have had enough experience in life to see what meaning comes from everyone's spiritual journey, no matter where it has brought them.
Having worked with all varieties of traumas over the years and also knowing personally how that can affect people, I have developed not only a good understanding of it, but also a good heart for helping survivors own their resilience and victory over it.
For my consultation mentees, I understand the importance of good mentorship in counseling, having received it and given it, and I am dedicated to providing that support to people seeking it from me.

Additional years after 1994 reflect work on a PhD in Social Welfare at Penn. I decided to focus more on clinical work than grant writing instead of completing that, as that is more important to me.
